Learning to Dance

I want to dance

This life

Beautifully

I feel clumsy

And move

Cluelessly

But then I catch the rhythm

And there’s no mistaking

Now I’m dancing, not just shaking, but

Partaking

In the divine

Whirl of our world

Then it’s gone, the magic tossed

Memory fading

And rhythm lost

Each time the echo lasts, one note longer

In my chest, my heart

My dance beats stronger

If I step

Upon your toe

Please forgive me

For I am learning

To dance
